1962 Tenth Grade Science Instructor Nicholas Skalko

I was sitting in the back of the room with Bobby McClain and Bob Mohrbacher. Skalko drew a figure on the board that was supposed to resemble an insect. Skalko asked the class what did it look like and Mohrbacher said it looked like three men rowing a boat. McClain and I laughed at the comment. Skalko threw me out of class for the rest of the term (I had a "A"average and was aiming for Honor Society). I was failed, had to go to summer school. Again I had received an "A" for the course, but Sidney Kane explained to me that I could only get a "C" for the course since I had been failed by Skalko. What teachers we had!

Mrs. Alford Home Economics Instructor

The girls in "Class of 1963 and 1964" couldn't keep their personal objects in their lockers. Mrs. Alford, making sure their lockers were always tidy, regularly inspected the contents without their permission! She certainly created quite a stir!

The coolest guys I have ever met in my life were right there in Beaver Valley. Bo Hayden, Joe Namath, Karlin Ryan, Evans Dreher, William Short, Linwood Alford,Sylvestor Carlo,Reg Foster,John Kirkland,Bones, and several others.

They always looked fine, dressed just right, walked and talked the way all the other guys wished that they could, and had the motivation to succeed.

Karen Barbosky and I bought shoes and purses from Wolfes Shoe Store and Bakers. We always had to have the "sharpest" items they had.

Janet Lapore working at the jewelry store. Still trying to find some Italian Florentine jewelry.
